The Clawhammer Core Repertoire Series is a monthly lesson I write in partnership with the Banjo Hangout. In each lesson, we work through the process of stripping a tune down to its melodic essence, and then building it back up as a clawhammer arrangement.
So, with each installment, you’ll learn a couple different arrangements of a great tune, and gain a better understanding of how to start creating arrangements in your own personal style.
In the first 16 episodes, I covered old time jam classics – 16 of the most popular fiddle tunes in old-time jams the world over. Now we’ve moved on to solo clawhammer classics – tunes that make for excellent stand alone clawhammer pieces.
