The Madness Has Begun!
Here in the states, it’s that time again….
Time for the NCAA college basketball tournament, a.k.a. “March Madness,” which began Thursday.
Sixty-four teams enter the tournament, and two and a half weeks later a single winner is crowned. The emotions and stakes are high, inspiring fans and non-fans alike to try their hand at sports prognostication (it’s estimated that somewhere in the neighborhood of $3 billion is wagered on the whole affair…)
Last year, to mark the occasion, I launched the Clawhammer Tune of the Week version of March Madness. The winner then was Snowdrop:
But now it’s time to crown a new champion, and I need your help!
For this year’s contest, we’ll be selecting from the tunes posted since last year’s tournament.
The field has already been narrowed down to 16 FINALISTS (the “Sweet 16”) based on the response to them thus far.
In one week, based on your votes, the field will be narrowed down to 8. And in the final week, we’ll prune the contestants down to a final winner!
UPDATE (3.26.16): We’ve narrowed the field down to the final 8. Click the link below to see the final 8 playlist, and be sure to cast votes for your favorite.
